World Robot Conference 2026: a week in Beijing

Image 1 of 4

We spent last week at the World Robot Conference (WRC) in Beijing, one of the biggest robotics gatherings in the world, and a clear window into how fast things are moving in China right now.

Scale that's hard to overstate

Humanoids, mobile manipulation platforms, and industrial robotics from hundreds of companies filled the halls, ranging from early prototypes to systems already running in production.

The pace of iteration

Hardware, actuators, sensing, and embodied AI stacks are all advancing quickly, and a lot of what we saw is only a generation or two away from real deployment; that pace of iteration was the clearest signal from the show floor.

Conversations worth continuing

We left Beijing with a stack of new contacts among founders, engineers, and potential partners, and several of those threads are already moving.

If we spoke in Beijing, or you'd like to start that conversation now, reach out.
